* Sadly Instagrok has closed down. I will let you know if it opens again 😦
InstaGrok is a completely new take on the traditional internet search engine.
Type your keywords in and the website or app makes an interactive concept map, that you can customize and share. Similar key words are shown and can be selected – or synonyms if you only input one word.
You can choose from key facts, websites, videos or images – the perfect tool for research. Finally, you can make notes on the key words; very handy for revision.
Have a look at my walk-through video:

Instagrok looks awesome, but whenever I click on http://www.instagrok.com, I am taken to the Crypto Features news site which looks rather dodgy.

Neil, Instagrok shut down on August 15th of this year. Here is the email they sent out in early August:
Dear instaGrok users,
We have to inform you that instaGrok will be shutting down in the near future. It has been an incredible experience to create it and share it with learners and teachers all over the world. Yet, despite great feedback and traction from our users we have not been able to make the business financially sustainable.
We will be shutting down the service completely on August 15th. To preserve your journals we recommend copying and pasting them into Google Docs or a word processor. If you have made a payment in the last 90 days and would like a refund, please send us an email with a refund request to: info@instagrok.com
Thank you for being a supportive audience! I feel both sadness and gratitude as I close this chapter. I am continuing to innovate in the learning technology space, and hope to have new things to show you soon. And if you have ideas or feedback, please don’t hesitate to drop me a line.
Sincerely,
Kirill Kireyev
Founder, instaGrok

I am the founder of SweetSearch.com It is an outstanding search engine for students, with much higher quality resources than those that were in Instagrok. We’ve recently added News.SweetSearch.com and History.SweetSearch.com, which we are particularly excited about. We’ve been around 8 years and are much loved by school librarians and research experts. This summer, I personally revisited every single link in all three search engines and confirmed they are authoritative sources.
Please let us know what you think!
